Putting patient safety first in Belgium

UZ Leuven (University Hospitals Leuven) has focused on patient safety for years. They have recognized the need for additional air purification in certain hospital areas.

”We are using Genano to protect patients in critical condition, such as after organ transplantation”, describes Jean Kruth, Head of Technical Services.

“It is critical for us to use mobile air purifiers. Patients requiring extra protection are not always located in the same rooms”, says Kruth.

After good results with Genano air purifiers the hospital has taken them into use in other departments as well.

”We also use Genano to prevent spreading of diseases such as chickenpox, and in our IVF laboratories”, says Kruth.

Technical Administrative Assistant Dieter Decoster has worked hands-on with Genano air purifiers for years. ”It is our routine to perform particle measurements to see the true ISO classification that can be reached. Genano has performed very well in these measurements”, says Decoster.

The hospital hygienics have independently measured Genano’s performance in reducing fungi. ”Genano has proven to be able to reduce their amount dramatically. We are convinced about the effect of Genano”, summarizes Decoster.
